CardMan 5121

The CardMan 5121 is a dual interface PC-linked reader that will read/write to both a 13.56 MHz RFID contactless smart card and virtually any contact smart card. The dual interface feature economically supports end-user environments where both contactless and contact smart card technology may be in use.

CardMan® 5321

The CardMan® 5321 represents the ideal combination of contact and contactless technology in a single device. The housing design is optimized for advanced user convenience in contactless applications.

The improved contactless field provides a higher transmission speed of up to 848 kbps depending on the contactless card used. As with the CardMan® 5121, it supports three ISO standards for contactless cards (ISO 14443 A/B and 15693), and the ISO 7816 and EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) industry standards for contact cards. High-Speed
Based on revolutionary chip technology, jointly developed with Atmel, the class 2 PIN pad device CardMan® 3621 supports reader-to-card data transmission rates of up to 420 KBits per second, exceeding the performance of other smart card readers.

Standards
Because the CardMan® 3621 complies with all relevant industry standards (ISO 7816, EMV (Europay®, Mastercard®, Visa®) 2000, Microsoft® WHQL, USB CCID, PC/SC, HBCI (Home Banking Computer Interface, the PC-2001 Specification and many more) it is open for any smart card on any computer for any application.
The PIN pad reader is under evaluation for Common Criteria EAL 3+ certification.

Security-Features
The CardMan® 3621 allows for Secured PIN Entry (SPE) with its 16 keys integrated keypad. The content on the smart card is protected by a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to prevent unauthorized copying or use of the information stored on the card. The sensible data is neither stored on the PC nor communicated via insecure PC/reader connection but remains only on the card.

Security-Features
The CardMan® 3821 has a display with two lines (2x16 characters) indicating the secure mode with a special sign. The commands for the Secure PIN Entry (SPE) can be given in five languages by default (English, French, German, Italian and Spanish). Other languages can easily be programmed.
